Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration Donation
We would like to thank the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration for the gift of $10,000 to be used to provide the residents of the La Crosse County jail with materials, haircuts, beard trims, games, and spiritual books over the next year. We are so grateful. They have truly been a champion of our ministry.
La Crosse Community Foundation Grant
We would like to thank the La Crosse Community Foundation and all of their donors for awarding us a $2250.00 grant to be used to provide spiritual training materials and spiritual books to the residents of the La Crosse County Jail. We also appreciate their guidance and direction and look forward to other opportunities they provide.
Gundersen Health System Donation
We would like to thank Gundersen Health System Corporate Community Contribution Program for providing our ministry with $1500 to provide materials for the residents in the jail. We could not continue our ministry without contributions like this one.
FSPA Grant Awarded for 2023-2024
The Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration’s (FSPA) Leadership Team met and approved the recommendations from the Ministry Grant Fund Committee to support 90 grants and one of them was our ministry! We’ve been approved to receive $9000.00 to support our ministry! They stated they are grateful to support our ministry and the people we serve. We are extremely grateful for their support; it’s been crucial to providing for our inmates.
These funds have helped us provide for inmate needs and especially has helped us provide faith books for all faith backgrounds. They also have made it possible for us to send a brand-new faith book with inmates who are going to prison. The Recovery Bible is the most requested, but we have also had requests of Qurans, the Jewish Bible, King James Bibles, Study Bibles, Hmong Folklore, and books on Buddhism. Lastly, this grant has made it possible for us to stock our library with books in Spanish, books for Native Americans and Hmong. We are truly appreciative of their support!
American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA)
The federal government allocated almost $22 million to the city of La Crosse in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to recover from pandemic conditions. The City of La Crosse joined with the La Crosse Community Foundation to distribute $2 million in grant funding to 22 nonprofits. The La Crosse Jail Ministry is one of those non-profits to receive funding. Over the next two years the Jail Ministry will receive $20,000 to meet the physical, intellectual and emotional needs of the inmates as well as provide training for our many volunteers. Thanks to the City for sharing ARPA funds with the La Crosse Jail Ministry.
